Unless you've been living under a rock for the past year or so, you will no doubt know the horrific plastic problem. Since becoming more conscious about my wardrobe and closing the loop in fashion, naturally I have delved deeper into the world of recycling more and wasting less. Of course, I am definitely not perfect and still fall into the fast fashion pit from time to time as well buying a flapjack wrapped in plastic for a snack on the way home from work.
But this year I wanted grow what I have already learned and make not only my wardrobe more sustainable but my lifestyle too. So me and my sister have joined up to see what changes we can make for a plastic free month. I'll be keeping a note of what I buy everyday and whether there is any one use waste or I buy anything that cannot be recycled which I'll put into a big blog post at the end of the month along with hopefully a few tips I have learned along the way as well as what I found most challenging.
In the meantime, I have linked a couple interesting reads on this topic below which I found quite insightful and helpful to know before starting this.
Also you can sign this petition here to UK Supermarkets to ask them to 'ditch throwaway plastic packaging'.
