The Summer Dress Obsession

I don’t know about you, but my Instagram feed is filled to the brim with bloggers in cute, girly summer dresses. Summer 2017 is definitely the year of the dress, and I am fully on board. I feel like for a long time I have been a jeans or trouser kinda girl and suddenly this summer, probably influenced a lot by the bloggers I follow, I have been fully committing to the summer dress season. I think it helps that recently I’ve been feeling a lot more body confident so have been able to get my legs out and feel comfortable with myself, but also there are just so many beautiful dresses around recently that it’s hard not succumb to the summer dress. Reformation and Realisation Par are the two main brands that are definitely leading the way and although I’m on my summer ‘no buy’, I thought I’d share with you my dress collection and also some of my favourites from other brands that I am seriously loving!

Wrap Dress

First up is this beauty. It instantly makes me feel summery and excited and just looks so damn good! The wrap dress is a big thing this summer and I have seen so many around from high street to high end. This one I’ve shared before is from Arnhem and I love it so much, it looks equally amazing with sandals for evenings and converse for the day time.

I'm wearing this dress by Arnhem Clothing.

Current favourites:

Kelsey DressAcai Dress, Black Wrap Dress, Valentina Purple Haze Wrap Dress

Midi Dress

Being short doesn’t mean you can’t wear midi dresses, I love how this one looks with my slides and it looks just as good over a pair of shorts which makes it super versatile. It’s made from linen, which makes it perfect for hot summer evenings.

You can shop this Uniqlo one here.

Love these:

Mariposa Dress, Serengeti Dress, Midi Stripe Shirt Dress, Floral Print Flowy Dress, Violette Dress, Japanese Slip Dress

Red Dress

You cannot beat a red dress. Lucy Williams from Fashion Me Now completely converted me into a red dress lover and I am so glad because I found this one and it’s so perfect. I love the deep V neckline, it gives the perfect balance of sexy yet still covered because of the long sleeves. The smock style is great for hiding your food baby when you’ve eaten too much too!

Shift Dress

This a classic style dress and one I think everyone should have in their wardrobe. My favourite way to style this one is with my gladiator sandals. Which one of my colleagues and I quote, said makes me look like a ‘posh gladiator’. This dress is also perfect for smarter occasions too.

Some of my favourites:

Barbados Dress, Navy Linen Dress, Black Shift Dress, A-line Dress

Shirt Dress

Another classic, I love the stripes of this one and the fact the buttons only come down part way. This is a great throw on and go dress and doubles perfectly as a beach cover up. I prefer it with the sleeves rolled up for a relaxed look.

This dress is quite old now, but you can buy these which are just as amazing:

Henrietta Dress, Deconstructed Dress, Blue Striped Dress, Collarless Shirt Dress

White Mini Dress

This style of dress is also popular at the moment and is the perfect girly dress. I love the tie shoulders of this and the simple shape, it’s great for really hot summer days as its made from linen so doesn’t stick to your body and make you feel even hotter. My favourite way of wearing this dress is with my grey old school vans for that girly tomboy look.
